Adderall break?

My psychiatrist insists that I not take Adderall on weekends because my body needs to rest. Is this a common occurrence, or is it another reason I should look for another psychiatrist? It doesn't feel right, so I decided to ask those who might know. Thank you in advance.

I think it should be up to me. Why should I only be productive and emotionally regulated on the workdays? My life is more than work.

Very common. Insisting is weird, but breaks on the weekends are not unheard of at all. I take weekend breaks from Adderall myself - I don't know if "my body needs a break" but I can definitely feel the side effects accumulate if I don't take a couple days off.
